Who We Are

Grace Community Church is a community of Christians, both young and old, pursuing an uncompromising, never wavering commitment to the truth of God's word. We exist to worship and praise the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; to build fellow Christians up through the expositional preaching of God's word; and to spread the good news that Jesus brings forgiveness of sins and restores relationship with God.

With this commitment and purpose, Grace Community Church seeks to bring glory to God in everything we do. We understand that Jesus said, "I will build My Church." Therefore, we recognize this is not about us, but about Him. With that understanding our worship is not focused on ourselves, but rather toward our Lord. As we gather, we come with thankful hearts overwhelmed by God's grace and mercy toward us as manifested in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We come as sinners saved by grace, through faith in Jesus, who died on the cross so that we may be forgiven, and rose again to give us new life.

Not only do we seek to have Christ-centered worship, but we want every believer to grow in their relationship with Jesus and one another through the preaching and teaching of God's word. We take seriously Jesus' prayer for the church in John 17:17 when he said, "Sanctify them in your truth, your word is truth." Elsewhere the Scripture says the church is to be the "pillar and support of the truth." Therefore, at Grace Community Church you will find us opening up the Scripture to explain its meaning book by book, and verse by verse. Whether it is through our main worship time and the preaching from the pulpit, our discipleship classes, or Bible studies for all ages, we want God's people to know what He has said. Being committed to a right understanding of God's word will then produce a genuine love for people and insatiable desire for God.

In light of our undying gratitude to Jesus for saving us and the truth that is given to us in His word, we long to see others come to faith in Him as well. After all Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except by me." Therefore, it is our desire to be a light in the city of Bowling Green. We want to live out the forgiveness we have in Christ, the love we have for one another, and truth of God's word.

Grace Community Church is in the business of giving people hope that there is forgiveness from sin, relationship with the God who created them, and a joyful expectation of everlasting life in heaven with Jesus. One of the means we seek to bring this hope to Bowling Green is through our biblical counseling ministry called Gracepath. Gracepath sets out to be a ministry that comes along side hurting people to give them the hope of the gospel. What makes Gracepath unique is its commitment to the sufficiency of Scripture. We want to show people that God knows them better than anyone, and has spoken to every struggle and difficulty of life. Therefore, from the truth of God's word, we want to give real answers to people with real problems.

What began in August 2001 by founder and Senior Pastor Steve Wilson and a small group of people meeting at the Knicely Center now meets as a growing fellowship with a building on Scottsville Road. Since then the number of pastors has grown to five, with more to be added. This has allowed the expansion of ministry into other areas. Claysound Music Academy is one such ministry that was formed in the spring of 2008 when Carlos Martinez was added as Minister of Music. Dennis Toland leads Gracepath and most recently Chase Sears was added as Associate Pastor. Grace Preparatory School is also here daily to provide a loving Christian environment that encourages children from ages one to six.
