God never promised life to be easy and problem free. What He did promise is that He would never leave us or forsake us. We live in a fallen world which no one is immune to, Christian and non-Christian alike. So what do we do? Where do we go when we need help? The answer is God's Word, the Bible. Any real answers to the problems of life must come from the Author of life, which is what makes Gracepath Biblical Counseling distinctly different from other forms of counseling. No one knows and understands us better than the One who created us. That is why our counseling is strictly based on God's Word. It is also known as nouthetic counseling.
God's people should have confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture The Bible says, His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3) It is fruitless to trust in fallen wisdom when we have God's wisdom. Gracepath is the path of grace, which leads to the God of Grace.
Counseling must be based on truth. Any Christian who counsels another must be assured the counsel he gives is true. Counseling is a helping ministry. It naturally assumes there is one who is confronted with a problem; i.e. confusion, disappointment or despair, and a second person offering help. This can only be effective if the counsel given is true. Therefore, the most basic of all philosophical questions comes into view. What is truth? Jesus answered this question when He prayed to the Father. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. (John 17:17) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You will find this to be the goal at Gracepath - not to make the person feel better or make the problem go away but rather to help the person become more like Christ in the problem (sanctify). The person struggling will learn to respond to problems in a godly way. Ironically, those who learn to handle problems in a Christ-like manner will feel better even if the problem never goes away.
Something To think About
If you had a problem with anything else like an appliance or electronic device, would you not consult the manual from the manufacturer who made it? If your car needed repair would you take it to the dentist or the plumber? Or would you take it to a trusted mechanic or even the dealership where you bought it? Why do we think differently when it comes to personal and interpersonal problems? Why do we seek wisdom from the creature rather than the Creator? In fact the Bible describes earthly wisdom as demonic. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. (James 3:17)
